What are the main components of F-PROT AntiVirus?
PLCW - Pre Loadable Call Wrapper is used to integrate F-PROT with file system level applications such as Samba, NFS or general on access scanning. The PLCW libraries will scan as files are opened.

Command Line Scanner - The command line scanner, f-prot, is used to manually scan for viruses. The command line scanner can be schedule via cron for daily, automatic scans. F-PROT detects many root kits and is a valuable tool for maintaining Linux security.

Daemon Scanner - The Daemon scanner, fprotd, is accessed via http calls to internal ports. This is intended for applications such as mail servers, firewalls or proxies that require virus scanning. FPOTD is an ideal choice for firewall, proxy, or other network layer virus scanning applications.

F-PROT currently supports native Sendmail LibMilter, QMail and PostFix intefaces. F-PROT may be integrated with mail scanners such as anomy, CanIT, etc. via the flexible F-PROT daemon scanner.
